August and I heard a huge buzzing, looked up and saw this 20 foot diameter swarm of bees coming across the yard right toward us. We quickly ran inside, closed doors, and checked all posible entrance points to the house. They went over the house, then returned, and hovered around in the back yard for some time (see video). Hundreds and hundreds of bees flying in an undirected chaotic mass.
Disorganized bees I had never seen before and it made us uncomfortable. Later that afternoon it was clear they had settled upon our house for their new hive. They're still living in the wall, and respectfully using only exterior exit/entrance points, but you can hear and feel the buzzing nest vibrations in the house.
